Rules For Registration
All Quarter Horses bred in California must be registered with
Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Racing Association before they will be allowed to
start in any California-Bred race, or collect awards through the Cal-Bred Awards
Program. In order to legally claim the Cal-Bred bonus payment for a California-Bred
race within this state, such horse shall previous to being entered in such race,
have been registered and certified as a California-Bred Quarter Horse with the
PCQHRA. The breeder, owner or his agent is eligible to file this application.
California-Bred Defined:
A Cal-Bred prior to Jan. 1, 1997, is defined as an AQHA registered
Quarter Horse foal conceived in California. For foals born on or after Jan. 1,
1997, a Cal-Bred is defined as an AQHA registered Quarter Horse foal conceived
in California by a stallion standing in California at the time of conception.
California-Bred Breeder Defined
The Cal-Bred Breeder of a foal conceived prior to Jan. 1, 1996
is defined as the owner of the mare at the time of foaling. For a foal conceived
after Jan. 1, 1996, the Cal-Bred Breeder is defined as the owner of the mare at
the time of conception.
Registration Fees
Registration fee must accompany application or application will
be returned.
