All nominations for Quarter Horse races that are run at Los Alamitos Race Course are administered by two associations -- Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Racing Association and Los Alamitos Quarter Horse Racing Association. Pre-Pay Your Fees And Save $250 Owners of nominated sale yearlings and owners of Open Berths can pay 1,200 on or before Dec. 1, 2011 (no 30-day grace period). This payment covers all fee through August 1, 2012 and will save you $250 off the regular payment schedule(Savings exclude-original $50 nominating fee for sale horse or Open Berths). The only remaining payment for the futurity is the $650 trial entry.
*Available Open Berths not purchased by Pacific Coast Sale consigners or buyers by Dec 1, 2011, can be purchased through PCQHRA by payment of $400 by Dec. 31, 2011 (Includes original $50 nominating fee Dec.1, 2011. sustaning payments of $150/$200 penalty). Remaining sustaning payments and trial/entry fees are required to maintain eligibility for the Breeders Futurity. (Sale consigners/buyers are given priority to purchase un-optioned Open Berth for $200. This priority extends to the number of horses they are sold or purchased in the Pacific Coast Sale) ($50 fee charged for Open Berths that are transferred from one owner to a new owner).
**A specific horse must be named to each berth before or with the April, 2012, payment. All holders of paid up berths must show proof of ownership of the specific horse to be named to the berth with the April 1, 2012. payment. Unnamed berths expire April 1, 2012.

The PCQHRA Breeders Series provides racing opportunites for Quarter Horse foals that have passed through the sale ring of the Los Alamitos Equine Sale and/or foals that have been nominated to the series by being named to an Open Berth to the $450,000 (est) PCQHRA Breeders Futurity [Gr1] and the $250,000 (est) PCQHRA Breeders Derby [Gr2]. Buyers and sellers of yearlings at the Pacific Coast Sale are given the option of purchasing open berths to the futurity and derby. All Quarter Horses are eligible for nomination to the Series by being named to an Open Berth.

Ed Burke Million Futurity The Ed Burke Million Futurity is one of the most prestigious Grade 1 futurities contested in California. The race is open to all Quarter Horse foals, which are nominated as yearlings to the Ed Burke Million Futurity [Gr1]. The Ed Burke is now the first leg of the Million Dollar Bonus Series contested at Los Alamitos, which includes the Golden State and Los Alamitos Two Million Futurities.

Late Nominations Late Nominations are accepted with a payment of $2,000 on or before Dec. 15, 2011. (no 30-day grace period). To keep entry eligible, the nominator must continue to make all remaining sustaning payments and fees due after Dec. 15, 2012.
